    • International Mentorship/Partnership Programme (INDIA and KENYA)

      National Authority Chemical Weapons Convention (NACWC) is an office in the Cabinet Secretariat, Government of India. NACWC is presently engaged in the OPCW Mentorship/ Partnership Programme with Kenya, which aims to enhance the technical support and Assistance provided to State Parties, which are at an early stage of CWC implementation, by the States Parties that has proven to be efficient and more successful in the implementation. The Government of Kenya is in the process of setting up its legal and Administrative Framework.

      The OPCW Mentorship/ Partnership Programme between India and Kenya commenced in early 2024, and is progressing well. As a part of the Programme, a four-member delegation of Ministry of Interior and National Administration, Government of Kenya is scheduled to visit India from 23rd to 27th September 2024.

      On first day, programme on 23-09-2024 was organized at Kaushal Bhawan, New Delhi. The programme was chaired by Chairperson NACWC Shri Mukhmeet Singh Bhatia. The event was started with the welcome of the Delegation and opening remarks by Joint Secretary, Ms. Indra Malo, NACWC. Later, there was a brief introduction round of all the officials viz. H.E. Ambassador High Commission Kenya , OSD Ms. Sukriti Likhi, J.S DISA, Ministry of External Affairs, who attended the event followed by the felicitation of H.E. Ambassador, High Commission, Kenya and Kenyan Delegates. Delegates of Kenya were delighted by inauguration and short film on “India’s Journey of Transformation”.

      Presentation on ICT activities in NACWC Cabinet Secretariat, Declaration Process in India under Article VI of the Convention and OPCW Training Management System portal followed by demonstration of above said portals were taken by HoD NIC, Cabinet Secretariat Shri R K Sharma, Joint Director (IT) Shri Yogesh Kumar Agarwal & Assistant Director (IT) Shri Rohit Kumar.

      Detailed discussion session among NIC Team, NACWC and Kenyan Delegation took place to understand the requirements of the guest country.

      HoD, CSID also highlighted about the perspective on IT Infrastructure in Kenya with the Delegation. Kenyan Delegation was very much amazed and impressed by the presentation and demo of applications. They were very keen to adopt the technologies to automate their systems.

      The Day-One Programme was then concluded by Vote of Thanks by Shri Manoj Kumar Sahoo, Advisor NACWC.
